Google first unveiled Assistant at Google I/O in May 2016, launched it on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones, but now supports all Android devices with the latest Android and even iOS users can install it on their device. The Google Assistant is a virtual assistant developed by Google that is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. Unlike Google Now, the Google Assistant can engage in two-way conversations. In Latest Google I/O, Google Introduced there new virtual assistant Google Duplex which can do two-way conversation more like a human being without letting the other person know that they are talking to AI. Google Duplex which is still under development whereas Google Assistant has been rolled out and it is a competitor to Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri. Google Assistant is able to some things which makes your life smoother with your phone.

Here are some things that you can do with Google Assistant.

1. Let Google Assistant Unlock Your Phone!!

Google Assistant is able to respond to your voice when its even locked, and there is a cool feature which lets you unlock the phone by just saying OK Google, to activate this you need to go to Google Assistant settings and select OK Google Detection followed by Trusted Voice. By enabling this option you will be able to bypass the additional steps like give fingerprint or password.

2. Open Apps with your voice!!

Searching for an app in your phone sometimes becomes irritating when you have so many apps one daily used app cant be fined and it gets irritating now rather than going to search box type the name of the app you can directly ask Google to Open the app, all you need to say is that Ok Google, open Gallery, and Google will open the Gmail for you and it can also open third-party apps.

3. Google Image Search

Searching image has become easier by Google assistant, it has cancelled out all the process by opening browser you will search for google images then type which image you need but with google assistant all you need to say to Google Assistant is that search pictures of Panda(an example) and it will do that for you.

4. Have Google Assistant Read News for you

One of amazing thing Google Assistant can do is read news for you but how it does that?  You have to tap the home button when the popup box comes up with Google Assitant asking you, How may I help you? you have to say “Good Morning.” Assitant will reply with Good Morning (Your name), and give you the weather in your city as well as read the latest news from your customized news sources. You can also do it afternoon by saying Good Afternoon which will tell you lWeahatest news according to the time.

5. Smart Home

Google Assistant works with Smart home products from various companies like  Honeywell, Nest, Philips Hue, SmartThings, and WeMo. If you have such products at your home, open Assistant and then press the three-dot menu icon in the upper-right corner. Select “Settings,” then tap “Home Control” and follow the prompts for adding a new device.

6. Get Sports Score

Google Assistant is able to give you live sports score and also tomorrow game timing, Find out who won yesterday’s IPL game, just by tapping the home button and saying, “Who won yesterday’s Hyderabad vs. Kolkata game?

7. Weather Forecast

Google Assistant is also able to forecast weather for you and can tell you if it’ll be sunny or cold and rainy. Google Assistant is pretty flexible here. Asking, “What’s the weather for the weekend?” will give you a forecast.

8. Ask Google Assistant to jog your memory

Are you a person who forgets things too often like placing your car keys somewhere and after sometimes you forget it Google assistant can now keep that thing in memory all you need to do is, Just say “OK Google, remind me that my car keys are in the kitchen on the counter,” and Google Assistant will recall it for you when you ask again.
