Vivo, the Chinese smartphone maker has done something that big firms like Apple and Samsung were not able to do, they have able to pull off on screen fingerprint sensor, amazing isn’t!!!? A phone which supports onscreen fingerprint sensor – it took me a while to believe but yeah it is true, VIVO has come up with one of the best tech pieces of 2018.
Vivo’s all-new X21 supports an on-screen fingerprint sensor, yes that’s true they have officially launched world’s first phone with an onscreen fingerprint sensor. Companies like Apple and Samsung were also said to be developing this technology in 2016 but later Apple said it was never developing on-screen finger sensor rather they were developing face id which has been used in Apple’s flagship, Apple iPhone X, whereas Samsung they were never able to pull off this technology at the time.
Vivo X21 was globally launched on 2nd of may in Singapore, it was already unveiled in China a month earlier. This makes Vivo the only company to successfully implement in screen fingerprint sensor.
X21 will be launched with two variants, one with the on-screen fingerprint sensor and other with the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device has an impressive display of 6.28 inches full HD display with 1080 x 2280 pixels. The phone is having 90% of the body to screen ratio with a 3d glass body and supports a notch, yes the notch, the notch we cant really hate it now because it seems to be the only option to have a full view display because of the fact that we have to place 2 features of the phone on the front i.e front camera and proximity sensor, and the notch always houses these two things. MI also tried to give bezel-less screen by putting the camera down the screen but it was a good thing but it created lots of problems while taking front photos.
The phone is having a Snapdragon 660 SoC with a 660 AIE AI chip and having ram of 3gb and 64gb of storage and 6gb with 64gb of storage. The phone supports a dual rear camera of 12MP and 5MP with Samsung 2L9 sensor and led flash. The front-facing camera features a 12MP camera with Facewake 2.0 technology that is also for face recognition to unlock the device. The phone comes with Android 8.1 oreo with FunTouch 4.0 out of the box.
The launch of the device in India is yet to be confirmed but it seems like in coming months it might come to India.
The price of the phone in Singapore is SGD 598 which is roughly 30,000 in Indian rupees.
The phone will be available in 3 colors Aurora white, Drill Black, and Ruby Red.
