Honor 10 – A flagship Killer?

Honor launched its new flagship smartphone – Honor 10. The smartphone has taken many features from Huawei P20 Pro. It has become a tradition, once Huawei brings a smartphone, its sub-brand Honor launches a smartphone with similar features. Let’s see the features of this smartphone.

The smartphone has 5.84 inch Full HD+ (2280×1080 pixels) display. It has the aspect ratio of 19:9. The company has added a Notch to achieve this (19:9) screen aspect ratio. It has 86.2 percent screen to body ratio.

On top, the smartphone has an IR Blaster and a secondary noise cancellation mic. The power button and volume rocker buttons are present on the right side of the smartphone. At bottom, the device has a speaker, a USB – C charging port and a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack.

The sim tray is present on the left side of the smartphone. There is no slot for micro-SD card, so you can’t expand the storage. The physical fingerprint sensor is present on the front side. The company has used the bottom chin to place a fingerprint sensor. The weight of the smartphone is 153g.


Honor 10 runs on HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor. It has Mali G72 MP12 GPU. This is the same processor which Huawei uses in Huawei P20. You will not notice any lags in day to day uses. You can play high graphic-oriented games.

Honor 10 is powered by 3400 mAh battery. The battery is good and it can easily stand a day with moderate usage. The company has provided 18W (9V, 2A) charger. This is a fast charger.


Honor decided to bring only one variant of the device. The company has launched the 128 GB internal storage variant. It has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. micro-SD card slot is not present on this smartphone. So, you can not extend the storage.


The smartphone runs on EMUI 8.1 which is based on Android 8.1. So, you are getting Android Oreo out of the box. EMUI is the customer user interface made by Huawei/Honor. The company has tried to make the UI clean, still it has some bloatware.


The smartphone has 24 MP + 16 MP Dual rear camera. The camera can shoot video up to 4k. Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) is not present in the smartphone.

It has 24 MP front camera. It allows users to take the selfie with bokeh mode from front camera. The front camera creates bokeh mode with the help of software.


The smartphone is priced at Rs 32,999. Honor has tried to keep the aggressive price, so that it can compete with other smartphones in this price segment. The smartphone has an edge (in terms of price) over its competition.

Honor 10 is a balanced smartphone. It looks good for its price. Honor had the chance to add some other features like IP protection. Still, the smartphone is a flagship killer. If you don’t have the budget of Pixel, you can look at this smartphone. If Honor improves the Android updates scenario, this smartphone will be tough to ignore.
