There is always some ‘bad’ when there is ‘some’ good.this is 100% true in domain name choosing and registering.to prove that there is some unsavoury practices that go on in domain names.

Here are some precautions that you can take to avoid being victimised.

Domain Name Front Running.

To be simple, “Domain name front running” runs on a registrar’s website which monitors the users domain searching actions. when a user attempts to check an non existing domain name, then it is quickly snaps up before the user tries to buy it. by the way you loose your domain name. Then the registrar can sell it to other interested parties with some increased cost than the normal.

Unscrupulous Domain Name Registrars.

These registrars snaps out all your search for non existing domain name, whenever you check for the availability of some domain name with these registrars, they quickly snap it, so that you can buy it from them only and not from any other registrars.

so beware of this frauds, when you choosing the domain names.

So what are the precautions to be made before buying the domains.

  • before  selecting your domain name, first select your registrar. (See Recommended Domain name registrars and host in my following posts)
  • if you are planning to buy host, there are many hosting providers provide free domain names for life time, check those also.
  • Don’t check for the existence of a domain by typing it in your browser window. If domain name front running exists, that query for a nonexistent domain name will be noted.
  • once you found a right domain name buy it immediately, because it is more affordable than buying it second hand. if domain name front running then you probably lost your domain name after few seconds(even less) of your query.
  • Don’t ask about the selected domain name through social service profiles like blog, post, community etc.,
