Gesture Control Coming to Android Devices

eyeSight Mobile Technologies introduces a Touchless gesture control application for android devices. Using a front-facing camera, eyeSight’s “Touch Free” tech gives the user control over basic functions without the need to actual touch the screen.

By swiping your hand before the front camera the application recognizes the hand movement and then follows the algorithms to perform the basic actions of the phone.

Some of the basic actions performed by it are call attend, end call, next picture view, previous picture view. If the phone has rear camera then it is used to play games. Music player is also controlled by this method.

While few portable devices currently feature front-facing cameras, several upcoming Android-based devices are expected to. Because the “Touch Free” solution is implemented in software rather than using a special type of camera, it should fare well on upcoming phones, in addition new devices, like Android-based tablets and music players.
