nVidia’s Fastest Dual-GPU Graphics Card Released

Finally we have the dual-GPU variant of the nVidia’s GTX series. We also have done some benchmarks of the GPU done as well with the Radeon HD 6990. The nVidia’s dual-GPU card beats the AMD’s currently fastest GPU ( HD 6990 ) with an considerable margin in some games. But in some games the AMD stands out as well.

This result is kind of even at the mark, because some game utilizes the nVidia’s technology like SLI, Physx etc;. Where as in AMD, Direct compute, Eye-Finity etc;. But both cards also have 3D display features to. So it is kinda hard to tell which card to buy and both cards are priced at the same level to. So it depends upon which games you play and the games you play utilizes the either of these cards technologies. So its up to you guys to decide.

The GTX 590 has two GTX 580 GPU, it has 1024 CUDA cores. It has 3GB DDR5 Memory, Dual 8-Pin Power connector, 11″ inches long and consumes power of 365W. The GTX 590 is priced same as the HD 6990. So buy the card and enjoy Crysis 2 like anyone never will.

Give us your thoughts on either cards by commenting below.

All New nVidia’s Dual-GPU Card Has An Release Date

The new graphics card from nVidia will be the dual-GPU GTX 590. It consist of dual GPU processors of the GTX 580. This card from nVidia comes in for the competition for AMD’s HD 6990 Antilles. Which is currently the fastest card on the planet ( period ). Will the GTX590 be faster than the HD 6990? Well we must have to wait until March 22.

And for the releasing date, it releases as the same date when one of the most anticipated game of this year releasing. Yes, it is Crysis 2. Crysis 2 is releasing on the same date when GTX 590 is releasing. We might even expect an Crysis 2 special edition bundle for the GTX 590. If that was the case many gamers would be happy. But I wish they give that offer on GTX 580 & 570 as well.

So finally this generation of graphics card wars are really heating up. Last time nVidia was behind but for now things changed drastically. And readers if you any new info on this news do comment below.

MSI New Revamped GTX580 Twin Frozr II High End GPU

Nvidia has released an Gtx 580 sometime in November 2010. Up to this time all manufactures came up with nVidia’s reference PCB. But now MSI stepped up to its reference PCB to its own. And it show some really new attractiveness to Overclockers with suitable cooling systems with some warranty to back you up.

This card has more difference to the original card and this, the appearance is similar to the Gtx 480 Twin Frozr. It has everything that the reference card provides and it packs even more punch to it.

The Twin Frozr II has many elements to it. They are as follows ;

  • Twin Frozr II Thermal Design
    - Nickel-plated Copper Base: Large size of Copper Base can dissipate the heat of GPU faster.
    - Dual 8CM PWM Fans: Dual fans provide double air flow. Air flow from dual fans can cool down whole module at once.
    - Five heat pipes with SuperPipe Technology: Five heat pipes can provide faster heat dissipation.
    - Form-in-one heat sink: Form-in-one heat sink covers the memory and power module
    - 19ºC cooler and 8.4dB quieter compared to reference design
  • MSI Afterburner overclocking utility
    - Support Over Voltage function of GPU.
    - 2D/3D profile switch support
  • All Solid Capacitor
    - Ultra long lifetime & top stability.
    - Lower ESR and Temperature.
  • PhysX & 3D Vision Surround technology
    - Support PhysX technology effects for realist physics effect.
    - Support 3D Vision Surround technology to provide 3 monitor output simultaneously and real 3D image experience in SLI mode.

It has 2XDVI output nad 1XHDMI output used for nVidia’s 3D surround features.

Its price is around $506.99 USD. For this price you get more performance than the reference card. So this is an must buy for gamers who have the money and will to buy an GTX 580.

From the temperature test we can see that the new GPU runs way much cooler than any high end GPU’s in the planet. The GTX 580 has an unique cooling solution, it cools the GPU by an vapour chamber method which is really effective as we see it.

AMD Radeon HD 6870 Review

AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB Review

Manufacturer AMD
UK price (as reviewed) Around £200 (inc VAT)
US price (as reviewed) Around $250 (exc tax)

Its been 11 months since a video card came from the red camp (AMD). The last card which was released is the HD 5970 . In this span of time there has been many changes in red camp, eg; The name ATI  has been removed by AMD and it has been renamed as AMD Radeon Graphics. And the naming scheme also been revamped a little. Is this a good move? Only time has to say.

AMD in the branding of ATI has dominated the DX-11 lineup for a while now until the new nVidia cards came into play. Which actually took a lot of space in DX-11 category which was fully shared by AMD in the name of ATI. This due to the lack of tessellation performance drop in the ATI cards, this was a big blow for AMD. So they are now launching the new 6000 series of graphic cards as soon as possible. Instead of launching the top end performance card first they are launching the mid-level performance cards first. This is were the naming change comes in, In previous generation AMD cards the top-level cards were the 5800 series and the mid level performance cards as 5700 series. But now its has been changed that 6800 series as the mid-level cards and 6900 or some other name which AMD only knows will be the high-end performance oriented cards. The  6800 series is the barts xt and barts pro chipsets the higher version will be the caymen xt and the caymen pro.

The appearance of the card has been slightly modified. The front end of the card has the pointed edge towards it unlike the previous cards batmobile look has been disbanded. The rear exhaust has been reduced half of the size and the front intake is absent on this card as of the previous generation. And the output ports have also been increased.
